Mohamad Chakaki

Mohamad grew up playing in the sand and surf on both sides of the Arabian Peninsula, and then on the edges of eastern forests and city streets in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. He received his graduate professional training, in the fields of design and planning across the natural and built environment, at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies and MIT’s School of Architecture & Planning. Before joining Ginny McGinn as Co-Director at Center for Whole Communities earlier this year, Mohamad Chakaki served as Senior Fellow for Urban Program Development and as a long-time faculty member on CWC retreats and workshops. Mohamad was a co-founder of the DC-area Green Muslims network and is a Senior Fellow of the Environmental Leadership Program.
