Miyoko Sakashita

Miyoko Sakashita directs the oceans program at the Center working to conserve marine species and ecosystems from threats including climate change, overfishing, offshore drilling, and pollution. The oceans team uses science and cutting-edge legal strategies to secure protections for whales, sea turtles, and other wildlife. Miyoko holds a law degree from the University of California at Berkeley, where she also earned an environmental science degree.
