Jorge Consuegra is the Chief Diversity Officer at the Environmental Defense Fund where he started in November, 2017. Jorge was born in Cuba and grew up in Avon, Connecticut; being
Cuban-American is an important part of his life. He earned his bachelor’s degree in international relations from Tufts University and later his MBA from Harvard.
Jorge is a marketer by training including roles such as chief marketing officer at Forbes, vice president, international marketing, at Yahoo!, general manager for Yahoo! en español and director of marketing for Pepsi International. Jorge went on to be a partner at a full service advertising agency called the Fearless Group and he spent six years on the board of directors of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the leading association for HR professionals worldwide. Much of Jorge’s career has had an emphasis on multicultural marketing.
Outside the office, Jorge enjoys running, playing tennis, and watching baseball, soccer, and college wrestling. He specifically roots for the Yankees (baseball) and the U.S. Women’s National Team (soccer). He is married and has four children.
