Emily Reyna is the Director of Diversity for Environmental Defense Fund. In this capacity she oversees the implementation of EDF’s diversity strategic plan and provides intellectual leadership and direction on internal and external diversity and inclusion initiatives. These initiatives include, among others, integrating diversity and inclusion internally through training, recruiting, and retention; and externally cultivating new relationships that support program strategic goals.
Over her tenure at Environmental Defense Fund, Emily has held roles in two other programs and served as a co-chair of the staff diversity committee. Her most recent role was in EDF’s California Climate and Energy team where she served as senior manager of Partnerships and Alliances focused on developing tools and relationships to support stakeholder understanding of the benefits and opportunities of California’s climate change law.
She began in EDF’s Corporate Partnership’s Program on EDF Climate Corps, an innovative program that places specially-trained MBA and MPA students in companies, cities and universities to build the business case for energy efficiency. Emily helped grow Climate Corps from 7 fellows in 2008 to approximately 100 in 2012. Emily was responsible for managing company relationships, leading fellow training and determining program metrics. She was a fellow at Cisco Systems in the inaugural Climate Corps class in 2008 where she identified the potential for significant energy and cost savings in Cisco’s data labs.
