Daniela Fernandez is the Founder and President of the Georgetown Oceans Sustainable Alliance, a student-led organization that convened over 1,000 participants (in person and online) at the Sustainable Oceans Summit, hosted at Georgetown University in April 2015. The summit provided a platform for Millennials, nonprofits, business executives and world leaders to discuss the opportunities and challenges in ocean sustainability. Daniela has shared the Millennial perspective as a contributor to The Economist, a speaker at Capitol Hill Ocean Week, and has been invited to speak at the United Nations in support of the passage of the Oceans Sustainable Development Goal. She is currently an undergraduate student at Georgetown University studying Government and Economics and also interning with the Wealth Management team at Northern Trust.
