Daniel is a Director for The Raben Group and manages communications strategies and tactics for many of Raben’s social justice and diversity-focused clients. Previously, Daniel served as communications director for the House Democratic Caucus under the chairmanship of Congressman Xavier Becerra, and as a policy analyst and communications specialist with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF).
At Raben, Daniel has drafted, refined, and executed communications strategies for a number of his clients, including the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, and the National Coalition for Latino Community Asset Builders. He has also helped diverse coalitions in California, Florida, and North Carolina craft unified messaging to empower their minority and immigrant communities.
As a congressional aide, Daniel led efforts to help member offices improve their press operations and communications capacities. At MALDEF, he managed and helped revamp the organization’s digital presence, spearheading several rapid response initiatives, including one that successfully brought federal charges to the perpetrators of a deadly anti-immigrant hate crime in Pennsylvania.
Daniel is a jack-of-all-trades in the communications field. In the past, he’s served as a press interview advisor, a video producer, a social media strategist and graphic designer, and as a team leader directing tactics to a large team or coalition. His bottom line: find a client’s most compelling message and get it to the right people.
Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Daniel earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Stanford University. He is fluent in Spanish.
